SAD chief Badal and BJP chief Gadkari participated in ‘ardas’ with shoes on

Fatehgarh Sahib (May 14, 2010): Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and BJP President Nitin Gadkari have showed disrespect to Sikh tradition, ethics and values by participating in a ardas with their shoes on.

The leaders had come to participate in the state-level function, organized by Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) led by Avtar Singh Makkar and controlled by SAD (Badal) to commemorate the tercentenary celebrations of ‘Sirhind-Fateh Diwas’ at Mata Gujri College here

Before the function concluded the leaders in their haste to address the press left the function. They were about the start the press meet when they realized that the ‘ardas’ ceremony was on. Thought they stood up to participate in the Ardas but did not bother to remove their shoes.
