Amritsar: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) youth leader Papalpreet Singh took to social media to offer explanation after SAD (Mann) chief Simranjit Singh Mann announced to hold inquiry against him for alleged anti-party activities. He had announced his ‘resignation’ from SAD (Mann) over his Facebook wall on Tuesday. Later on Tuesday S. Simranjit Singh Mann issued a written statement accusing him for alleged anti-party activities. Papalpreet Singh was organizing secretary of youth wing of SAD (Mann).
Holding a ‘live video session’ over Facebook, Papalpreet Singh said that his concerns were not being heard in the party. He said that he was criticised within the party for appreciating Bhagwant Mann’s initiative to support Irom Sharmila and favouring support for ‘Panthic sections’ in DSGMC elections.
He hinted to form a new party and said that he has entered into basic understanding with journalist Surinder Singh (Talking Punjab) for this purpose. While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) over phone journalist Surinder Singh said that there was a dire need for a platform for the youth as traditional ‘pathic’ sections were not leaving space for the youth.
