Ludhiana, Punjab (April 20, 2013): According to information shared by Sadda Haq Punjabi Movie’s producers at Official Facebook Fans page of the movie, the film is going to be screened in Italy on April 20.
The movie is based on events of post-1984 to mid-1990s in Punjab and depicts the untold story of the painful times. The movies was banned across northen states of India just before it’s release. The movie was released in rest of India and abroad on April 05, 2013 while it remains banned in home state Punjab and neighbouring Haryana, Jammau and Kashmir and Delhi.
According to reports the movie has received tremendous response abroad, especially in Canada, United States, United Kingdom and Australia; while it received a decent response in Himachal, Indaur and Mumbai where the movie did not faced a ban.
As per media reports there was dire demand of the movie in Italy and many young Punjabis specially traveled from Italy to United Kingdom to watch the movie.
Meanwhile, the producers of the movie have moved to the Supreme Court of India challenging the ban imposed by some of the state governments. It is expected that the SCI shall held a hearing on April 23, 2013 on this matter.
