SGPC constitutes five members’ committee to probe June 6 clash

Amritsar, Punjab (June 11, 2014): The president of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) has constituted five members’ committee to probe the clash between SGPC task force and Mann supporters occurred during the observation of Ghallughara June 1984 on June 6 at Akal Takhat.

Divulging the details on Wednesday (June 11), president SGPC Avtar Singh Makkar said that he had formed the committee on the orders of Jathedar Shri Akal Takhat, Gurbachan Singh.

Baba Nihal Singh Harianvelan, Baba Avtar Singh Bidhi Chand sect, general secretary SGPC Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, and Interim committee member of SGPC Karnail Singh Panjauli would probe the matter while additional secretary SGPC Balwinder Singh Juarasingha would be the coordinator for the committee. The committee would submit the report within a period of one week, he added.

On the other hand Dal Khalsa and other Sikh organizations had already held the probe by SGPC a drama and unauthentic.
