Shaheed Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke’s Portrait Installed in Central Sikh Museum

Amritsar: Portrait of Shaheed Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke was installed at Central Sikh Museum on Tuesday (June 5). The portrait was installed during a ceremony held by the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee in which curtains were lifted from three portraits. Portraits of Shaheed Gian Singh and Charhdikala group founder Giani Harnam Singh Dardi were also placed in the museum.

Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaunke was appointed as acting Jathedar of the Akal Takht Sahib by the 1986 Sarbat Khalsa. He was later picked up by the Punjab police and tortured to death.
