New York: The Sikh Coordination Committee East Coast (SCCEC) and American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) said a press release that their efforts to get “Vaisakhi” recognized as Khalsa Sirjana Divas has produced ‘excellent results’.
The organisations have issued a partial list of eminent personalities sending good wishes to the Sikh Nation on this Vaisakhi:

SCCEC and AGPC further said that “”with support of all US Gurdwaras, we are making a big impact to promote Sikh Identity and Sikh Values. Following are our few other key accomplishments:
- State of NJ passed a law declaring April 14 every year as “Sikh Day”
- 16 – US States declared Month of April as “Sikh Awareness and Appreciation Month”
- US House of Representatives recognized Vaisakhi as Khalsa Sirjana Divas by introducing House Resolution HR-189
- Every year in April a “National Sikh Day Parade” is held in Washington DC to commemorate Khalsa Sirjana Divas
- Pennsylvania General Assembly passed HR-1160 declaring anti-Sikh violence in 1984 in India as Sikh Genocide
- Connecticut legislature declared the first week of November every year as Sikh Genocide Remembrance Week
- New Jersey Senate and Assembly declared November 12, 2019 as “World Equality Day” to commemorate 550th Parkash Gurpurab of Guru Nanak
