Washington D.C/Ludhiana (26 September, 2009): In a Press Statement sent to the SikhSiyasat Network via email, Dr. Amarjit Singh, Director of the Washington-based Khalistan Affairs Center, vehemently condemned the ongoing reign of terror, (a la Nazi Germany) unleashed by the puppet government, in the Sikh Homeland of Indian-occupied Punjab, where patriotic Sikh leadership like Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu, (Chairman Shiromani Akali Dal-Panch Pardhani) and many other Sikh patriots have been rounded up, and incarcerated without trial under India’s draconian ‘Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967’.
It is obvious to everyone, the statement said, that the current Police terror has been unleashed by the Indian rulers in occupied Punjab to preempt the world-wide protests being organized, by the Sikhs to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Oct. /November 1984, state-sponsored, nation-wide pogrom. During that four days long reign of terror, 25 years ago, the statement said, over ten thousand innocent men, women and children, belonging to the Sikh minority, were murdered in Delhi, and other urban centers all over India, by workers of the ruling Congress party under supervision of the local police, whose leadership, Dr. Amarjit said, had received a ‘wink and a nod’ from none other than the then Indian Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. Twenty five years have gone by but NO ONE HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY in the world’s largest demoNcracy – India !
The statement concluded by saying that, ‘as a prelude to the mass protests being organized by the world’s 26 million Sikhs (3 million free in the diaspora and 23 million captive in India) on the 25th anniversary of the Oct. /Nov. 1984 state-sponsored pogrom, the Sikh-American community of the East Coast, is organizing a two hour ‘Shame India’ protest, outside the United Nation’s building (47th street and 1st Avenue) in New York, between 3 to 5 PM, on Saturday the 26th of September, 2009’.
