Jalandhar, Punjab (November 29, 2012): Joining the international community in observing 29 November as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in accordance with United Nations resolution 32/40 B, the Dal Khalsa has also expressed its solidarity with the people of Palestine and their struggle for statehood.

Notably, the UN General Assembly vote to raise the Palestinians’ status from UN observer to a non-member observer state is scheduled for today.

Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said the day was significant not only for the people of Palestine but for all those ethnic nationalities around the globe that have been nurturing the desire for statehood.

He said, the Solidarity Day provides an opportunity for the international community to focus its attention on the fact that the question of Palestine was still unresolved and that the Palestinian people are yet to attain their inalienable rights including the right to self-determination without external interference and the right to national independence and sovereignty.

He urged the US-UK and other world powers to support the just cause of Palestinians’ for the sake of peace and justice as the people of Palestine have seen enough bloodshed, and they have gone through hardships, trauma and sufferings since long.
