Amritsar, Punjab (July 18, 2014): The Dal Khalsa has observed that due to egoistical reasons the Akalis led by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal were preparing the ground for physical showdown with Sikhs of Haryana on the issue of HSGPC.

Terming the emerging situation as dangerous and volatile, party head H S Dhami and senior leader Satnam Singh said there was large possibility of internecine clash amongst Akalis and Haryana Sikhs. They said if such situation arises it would bring bad name to the community as it was brought during violent clash amongst Sikhs at Darbar Sahib on June 6.

They ridicule the statement of SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar that key of Golaks of 8 Sikh Gurdwaras of Haryana will not be handed over to newly formed HSGPC. Unfortunately, this statement of Makhar leaves impression that Sikhs were fighting with Sikhs to wrest the control of golaks, said they.

Expressing concern over the build-up situation, they blamed Badals for the present chaos. Badals have hardly any respect for Panthic interests and religious institutions. It was follies of Badals that the SGPC got bifurcated”.

“Jathedar of the Akal Takht is considered to be an elderly person of the community; they said and added that it’s ironic that he has already taken side. They rue that Jathedar Gaini Gurbachan Singh has not played his role and responsibility according to Sikh principles, traditions, tenets and collective aspirations of the community. “Hence there was none who could play a big role to prevent possible violent confrontation between both the warring factions”. They hoped that better sense will prevail on both the sides.
