Ludhiana (August 08, 2012): As a token of opposition to Punjab chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s proposed visit to Gurudwara Sahib in Wisconsin, USA hash-key #stayhomebadal (last accessed on August 08, 2012 at 11:29 IST) is trending fast on twitter. It is notable that the Gurudwara Sahib in Wisconsin witnessed bloodshed few days back as a neo-Nazi white supremacist opened gunfire in Gurudwara sahib. Six Sikhs were killed in this incident.

As per media reports Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal was scheduled to visit this Gurudrawa Sahib to attend some private function. It is notable that Badal Dal leaders enjoy only marginal support among Sikh living in Western countries.  Parkash Singh Badal, present CM of Punjab is considered to be a “traitor” of the Sikh nation by large sections of Sikh diaspora.

On aforesaid social networking website, posts with hash-key #stayhomebadal reveal that Badals do not have any positive image among nextgen Young Sikhs.

“#stayhomebadal the people of Wisconsin don’t need u. just look after your casino there’s more bars than schools Badal in Punjab. What hve u done.” tweeted a user with profile name Satnam.

Accusing Badal for Human rights violations, NGO Sikhs for Justice, tweeted: “The Sikh nation questions the sincerity of Parkash Badal, the man who (got) tortured & murdered countless Sikhs in Punjab #stayhomebadal”.

“Putting on an act for the American media does not erase all the human rights violations in Punjab #stayhomebadal” tweeter a user with profile name Sahib.

“#Wisconsin police take bullets to protect innocents, Punjab police fire bullets at innocents. #StayHomeBadal” tweeted users with profile name Jas and Sunny.

“Diff. between Obama’s country and Badal’s kingdom- US police take bullets to protect innocents, Punjab police fire at innocents. #StayHomeBadal” tweeted a user with profile name Ravi Gill.

Badal is not without support against trending #stayhomebadal. Though just few, but there are users who are supporting Badal. In reply to a tweet by Sikhs for Justice, a user with profile name Satjit Singh Grewal ‏wrote “@Sik…..ice If you are referring to Punjab as a Sikh Nation then the same punjab voted Badal as its CM the 2nd time. #StayHomeBadal.”

And in a quick reply to Grewal, Sikhs for Justice tweeted: “@Sa……wal u r the only one speaking in favor of Badal. Perhaps u should do ur own research into why sikhs distrust him #StayHomeBadal”.
