Bargari/ Kotkapura: Thousands of Sikhs gathered at Bargari village today to pay tributes to two Sikhs killed in police firing at Behbal Kalan village. Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib were held at houses of Shaheed Bhai Gurjeet Singh Sarawan and Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh Niamiwala in the morning. Local Sikh sangat and leaders of some Panthic organizations attended these samagas.
A large samagam was held at sports stadium of Bargari village that was attended by around thirty-five thousand Sikhs. Sikh religious and political personalities participated in this samagam that was also attended by leaders of some of Punjab’s political parties.
Akal Takhat Sahib Panj Pyara Bhai Major Singh, Giani Kewal Singh, Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Jathedar Ranjit Singh, Bhai Panthpreet Singh, Bhai Ranjit Sindh Dhadrian, Bhai Daljit Singh, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, Bhai Ram Singh Sangrawan, Sarbjit Singh Dhunda, Harajinder Singh Manjhi, S. Simranjeet Singh Mann, S. Parmjeet Singh Sarna (SAD Delhi), S. Dhian Singh Mand, Advo. Prahsant Bhushan, Sucha Singh Chhotepur (AAP), Sukhpal Singh Khaira (Congress), Dharamvir Gandhi (Patiala MP), Jagdish Singh Jhinda were prominent among those who addressed the gathering.
The stage proceedings were conducted by Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal who also read out eight of the nine resolutions adopted during the samgam.
In first resolution, it was announced that Sikh pracharaks would lead a protest gathering from Fatehgarh Sahib to Chandigarh on October 30. It was said that Punjab government led by Parkash Singh Badal has turned thirsty of Sikh blood and Sikh pracharaks would lead the Sikh sangat to offer blood to Punjab CM.
In second resolution the Sikh sangat was urged to hold Akhand Path Sahib at village, town and city level from October 27 to 29.
Third resolution called upon people to host protest demonstrations from 12 to 3 pm on November 3. It further read that the people should hold black flags and line up on both sides of roads without blocking the traffic.
In fourth resolution the Sangat was urged to mark the Diwali festival as “black Diwali” to protest against beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib and killing of Sikhs by the Punjab police. The resolution urged the Sikh masses to not to light lamps on Diwali and host black flags as a token of their protest.
Fifth resolution said that the falsehood of Punjab government on Sikh political prisoners issue was exposed by UP government’s decision to grant release to Sikh political prisoner Bhai Wariam Singh.
Sixth resolution demanded release of Sikh political prisoners (including Rupinder Singh and Jaswinder Singh, who are framed by the police in Bargari beadbi case). The resolution said that the Punjab government should get Sikh political prisoners released through President of India.
Seventh resolution condemned the suspension of SGPC by the Supreme Court of India and said that elections of the SGPC should be held at the earliest possible.
Eighth resolution said that the Punjab government was not serious about Beadbi cases. It said that the government was framing Sikhs in beadbi cases to tarnish the image of Sikhs. It also raised social and economic issues and emphasized on farmers issues. It said that these matters should be handed over to the CBI.
In ninth resolution, read out by Jaskaran Singh Kahan Singh Wala, a waring was issued to the Punjab government to arrest accused of Beabdi cases and release Rupinder Singh and Jaswinder Singh after withdrawing false case registered against them by 15 November. It further said that if the Punjab government failed to to so, then Sikh masses should start surrounding Badal Dal’s MP, MLAs and SGPC members.
