New Delhi: Delhi based Tihar Jail’s authorities have refused to present Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in a local court in Ludhiana. Notably a local court had issued directions to the Tihar jail authorities to present Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in person on August 29 in relation to the hearing of a case registered under FIR no. 134/1995 u/s 4/5 Explosives Act, 25 Arms Act at Police Station, Kotwali (Ludhiana).

The hearing of the case was to be held in the court of Additional sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar but the Tihar jail authorities took a plea that they could not produce Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in person due to intelligence input that he could flee from the custody, if he is moved out of Tihar jail for court appearances in Punjab.

“Tihar Jail superintendent said that there was some intelligence input and he can not present Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara to the court in person”. Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara’s counsel Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News.

“We have already moved an application seeking transfer Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara to some jail in Punjab. Tihar Jail superintendent in his reply told the court the jail authorities have sought clearance from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs to transfer Bhai Hawara to some jail in Punjab but the permission was still awaited”, Advo. Manjhpur told SSN over phone.
