Wisconsin, US (August 01, 2013): It is learnt that the United States’ Senate has passed a resolution in honor of the upcoming one-year anniversary of a shooting at Oak Creek Sikh Gurdwara.
The resolution was co-sponsored by Wisconsin Sens. Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson. It recognizes anniversary of the day a Neo-Nazi White-Supramacist killed six Sikh at the Sikh Temple Gurdwara of Milwaukee-area of Wisconsin.
The resolution reportedly honors the memory of the six victims and offers condolences to their loved ones. It also commends the heroism of the emergency responders and community members who provided support.
It is notable that the Sikhs of Oak Creek and the management of the Gurdwara Sahib are planning a memorial events, including religious readings and a 6-kilometer run in honor of the six victims. A candlelight vigil will be held on 5 August.
