Vajpayee, Advani and Joshi dropped from BJP Parliamentary Board

New Delhi, India (August 27, 2014): Bharatiya Janata Party seems to be doing a complete overhaul, with senior party leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi being dropped from its Parliamentary Board, considered to be the highest decision-making body.

The decision was announced by the ruling party on August 26.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and BJP general secretary and Rajya Sabha MP JP Nadda have been inducted to parliamentary board.

The two have also been included in BJP’s Central Election Committee, which decides on the party candidates to be fielded in elections.

List of 12 members of the BJP Parliamentary Board:

Narendra Modi,
Amit Shah,
Arun Jailtey,
Rajnath Singh,
Sushma Swaraj,
Nitin Gadkari,
Venkaiah Naidu,
Shivraj Singh Chouhan,
Thawarchand Gehlotm,
Ananth Kumar,
JP Nadda,
Ramlal.

The party has created a body named ‘Margdarshak Mandal’ (guiding group), which would include:

Narendra Modi,
Home Minister Rajnath Singh,
Atal Bihari Vajpayee,
Lal Krishan Advani
Murli Manohar Joshi.

Earlier, both LK Advani, who was a prime minister-ship aspirant before the Lok Sabha elections, and MM Joshi were denied Cabinet berths in the Narendra Modi’s Cabinet.
