World Sikh Parliament (WSP) Canada Takes Steps to Formalize It’s Structure

Toronto, Canada: A press release by World Sikh Parliament (WSP) dated 25 January states that the WSP’s 7th session was successfully conducted in Toronto on January 19 and 20, 2019.

Chosen representatives from the USA wing of the WSP also participated in this session to share information on the structure, objectives, rules and regulations of the WSP.

“The governing board shall comprise of 300 Sikh members from all over the world. England, USA, Europe and Australia have already chosen it’s representatives, only Canada was remaining and that too is being accomplished this year”, reads the press release.

WSP said that the Toronto gathering was conducted in a very amicable atmosphere, Sikhs from all corners of Canada were present.

“The uniqueness of this gathering was that it was void of any speeches, but was decorated with interactive dialogue, followed by a detailed question and answer session. Some members were selected to fill some positions of the Canada wing. Responsibilities and duties were assigned to the selected members. And the details of which (the selected list) shall be shared with the Sikh Sangat in the near future”, the statement reads.

Information about how the different councils will work together with the Supreme Executive Committee (SEC) to achieve the objectives of the WSP were also discussed.

Members from different parts of Canada came together to show support and pledged to work together under the Nishan Sahib, said WSP.
