1984 Sikh Massacre: New Democrat Leader of Canada opposed events featuring Kamal Nath
Canada (March 24, 2010): In a newsletter sent by Sikhs for Justice, a scanned copy of a letter from The New Democratic Party leader Kack Layton, MP, DEPUTE, is forwarded to Sikh Siyasat Network, in which the Canadian leader had express the concern of his party over the inviting devesive and controversial Indian Politician, Kamal Nath to Canada.
“The voices of a great many Indo-Canadians from all across the country have been very clear: they are especially hust by the presence in Canada of a man who allegedly organized anti-Sikh pogroms.” says the letter.
“Mr. Nath has been accused of participating in orchestrating, inciting and leading angy mobs in Delhi in November 1984. Over the past 26 years, the wounds of 1984 have not healed.” it adds.
In the end, out of respect for the Canadian Sikh community, the Canadian leader has urged his caucus not to attend events featuring Kamal Nath.
