Bahaar – Unthinkable burdon – film by Canadian Sikh Coalition

“This dark era of Punjab’s history is characterized by violence and the repression of the Sikh nation. There is very little documentation from this era as it as not recorded or purposely destroyed. Now, a new generation is using creative means such as film to open discussion on a closed chapter of Punjab’s history. This story is just a drop in the ocean when it comes to representing the events within Punjab in the past 3 decades. Watch the trailer and join us on January 12th and 13th in the pursuit to ensuring that we maintain an open discourse on Punjab’s historical and current position and ensure that the safety of our land and our people” the release reads further.

As per information available with SSN “Bhaar” is to be screened at Surrey Arts Centre’s main stage, with six show times on Saturday and Sunday (January 12-13, 2012).

CSC has sent a poster to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that reveals the details and timings of shows and ticket bookings.
