Ludhiana: Aam Aadmi Party leader Kanwar Sandhu was reportedly granted in a defamation case yesterday. The court of Additional Sessions Judge Jaspinder Singh granted interim bail to AAP leader who has been directed to appear before the trial court within seven days and furnish fresh surety bonds.
Meanwhile, the trial court order for issuing arrest warrants shall remain stayed.
Defence lawyer Harpreet Sandhu claimed that he mistook the date as July 18 instead of July 16.
It was stressed that the absence was neither willful nor intentional. The regular bail application will be taken up on August 3.
The case was registered against Kanwar Sandhu for terming “FastWay” as “Cable Mafia”.
