AsaRam spokesperson’s comments against first Sikh Guru evoked protests in Jammu

Jammu/ India (August 27, 2013): It is learnt that several Sikh organizations held a demonstration at Jammu on August 27, 2013 protesting against the blasphemous remarks of a spokesperson of AsaRam, comparing the self-styled godman with Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikh religion.

As per media reports several Sikh bodies held the protest outside Press Club of Jammu, denouncing the utterances of the spokesperson of Asaram.

According to a news reported by Punjab News Line (PNL), one of the protesters said: “We strongly condemn such uncivilized remarks by a representative of a person (Asaram), who has been charged of a heinous crime like rape of a minor girl in his Jodhpur Ashram”.

The protesters demanded the arrest of Neelam Dubey, spokesperson of AsaRam Ashramand strongest action against Asaram.

A case for hurting the religious sentiments of the community was registered against Neelam Dubey, media adviser of the Asaram Trust, after a complaint against her was filed by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee at Parliament Street police station in New Delhi.
