“The posters, purportedly published on behalf of Rajoana, who is currently lodged in high-security Patiala Central Jail, urge the voters of Patiala Parliamentary constituency to vote in favor of his sister [Bibi] Kamaldeep Kaur”, reports Times of India (TOI).

The announcement of candidature from Patiala seat was made by Bibi Kamaldeep Kaur in October 19 last year, when she produced a letter signed by Rajoana.

On October 12, the latter had also sent a communication stating that he would field his own candidate either from Patiala and Anandpur Sahib.

According to TOI: “[p]olice sources said that such posters had been put up in some villages of the Patiala constituency few days ago.

As per TOI: [t]he content of the posters is similar to letters sent by Rajoana earlier. Urging the electorate to support Rajoana’s sister, the poster reads, “…we can’t attain rights and justice for our nationality by distancing ourselves from parliamentary election process and subsequently giving chance to exploiters to rule us…we can’t reach our target by organizing rallies and protests on roads…”
