Amritsar: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has brought the opposition of Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal to streets in wake of Delhi government stance against Punjab during the hearing of a case related to controversial SYL Canal in the Supreme Court of India.
Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Majithia, along with other leaders of the ruling party staged a protest against Arvind Kejriwal in Amritsar today (April 12). Bikram Majithia, who is often targeted by the AAP leaders for alleged patronage to drugs abuse in Punjab, burnt an effigy of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal near the court chowk.
Before burning the effigy of Arvind Kejriwal, the ruling party leaders staged a dharna along road side against the “double standards” of Kejriwal on the contentious issue.
“Kejriwal opposed construction of the SYL canal when he was in Punjab and spoke in favour of water for all when he was in Delhi. When the issue came up for hearing before the Supreme Court, the Delhi government filed an affidavit favouring Haryana, betraying all the Punjabis,” said Bikram Mathithia.
