Blame-game on Sikh-Dera clash: Sukhbir and Kant should voluntarily undergo a lie detector test

Jalandhar, Punjab (April 23, 2014): Dal Khalsa has demanded that either Sukhbir Singh Badal should resign as SAD president or file a criminal defamation case against former DGP (jails) Shashi Kant within 24 hours in the wake of Kant alleging Sukhbir’s mysterious role in engineering the bloody clash between Sirsa Dera and Sikh community to fetch votes.

Party’s spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said former DGP Kant has leveled serious allegations against Badals for triggering bloody clashes between Dera Sirsa and the Sikhs to gain political benefits out of it. “Mere rebuttal by Sukhbir was not enough. Either Kant or Sukhbir was concealing the facts”, so both should be put on lie detector machine to ascertain the truth”.

“The Sikh Panth and people of Punjab went through agony, pain and hardship and saw bloodshed ever since Dera head Gurmit Ram Rahim committed a sacrilege in May 2007”.

Shashi Kant is on record saying that being ADGP Intelligence at that time, he knew how a dress was sent, how pictures were prepared and a conspiracy was hatched. Nothing was more serious than this revelation and in case it comes out true, Badals would stand as the biggest traitor of the Sikh Panth.

“We don’t want to jump to any conclusion in haste. There must be a thorough independent probe. Badals should be put on a lie detector test. If nothing comes out of it then the same should be repeated on Kant ”.

Notwithstanding the timing and intentions of Kant, the people of this state want their elected representatives to come clean of all allegations. “If Badals claim that they were innocent, then they should file a criminal defamation case against Kant in any court of law within 24 hours”, he said.

On Kant’s revelations of names of big politicians involved in drug racket, he said the people were skeptical about their dubious roles. “He said one thing was clear whether it was Akali Dal or BJP or Congress- all have bad eggs in their baskets. Since Kant has headed the state’s intelligence department, the blames he has leveled against senior politicians must come under people’s scrutiny and judicial scanner.
