Chandigarh: The Haryana state has reportedly taken a decision to stop long route bus services to Punjab with immediate effect. Haryana Roadways buses to Jammu, which pass through Punjab, have also been stopped.
As per media reports, the Haryana state has stopped the service in wake of Supreme Court of India (SCI)’s decision on controversial SYL Canal issue. The Supreme Court had passed a decision yesterday in favour of Haryana on SYL canal issue.
Private buses owned by Haryana transporters are reportedly not affected by this decision. Moreover, the Haryana Roadways buses will continue on short routes in Punjab ranging from 50 to 60 kilo-meters.
Notably, Haryana’s Khaps have threatened to cut Punjab from Delhi by blocking Punjab’s road and railways transport passing through Haryana.
