Barnala, Punjab: Hundreds of activists of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) on October 11 took to streets in Barnala city to protest against recent marches held by Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). It is notable that RSS activists armed with rifles, naked swords and sticks held a “flag march” in Barnala city of Punjab on Sunday (Oct. 05). RSS activists also held a similar march in Jaitu in Faridkot.
Labeling RSS’s activities as provocative, the SAD (A) district head Ranjit Singh Sanghera said that the Hindutva bodies like RSS and Shiv Sena were attempting to disrupt the situation in Punjab. He appealed to the people of Barnala to oppose of RSS and other Hindutva bodies.
SAD (A) activists started the march from Guru Nanakpura Gudkhana chowk and finished it at the office of Deputy Commissioner. They also handed over a memorandum at DC office demanding ban on provocative activities of RSS and Shiv Sena.
