Joint Statement
It is satisfying and comforting to know that the Kisan Ekta Morcha leadership of has shown intent to set at rest the indications given about sidelining of Gurnam Singh Charuni -the leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Haryana Charuni group. This has become possible as a result of the awareness and alertness of internal platforms of this movement.
With the overwhelming support of various sections of society, the struggle against the three contentious farm laws has now become a people’s struggle. In view of the decision of the Kisan Parade on 26 January, it is an important need that the Kisan Ekta Morcha leadership maintains solidarity and unity in its ranks and ensures proper participation in the event.
When the Government of India failed in its efforts to create discord and dissension amongst the farmers’ leadership, they were left with the last-ditch attempt to highlight the internal differences amongst the leadership of this movement. At this crucial hour, it is a crying need that all internal matters at the personal and collective level must be resolved and restraint should be fully exercised. The unnecessary display of differences in public should not be done whereby the strength of the Morcha would be compromised.
Important personalities of our society, influential sections of our population who can play a decisive role and all those engaged in supporting the movement positively through the Internet should make endeavours to minimise internal strifes and differences. All of them must use their good offices to further strengthen unity amongst the leadership.
At this hour, our struggle against the three farm loss and the rulers of Delhi requires unity of purpose and thought till it reaches its logical conclusion. Everyone should exercise restraint in projecting differences amongst individuals and groups.
Grasping the strategies of the government, the Kisan Ekta Morcha should withdraw all actions against Sirdar Gurnam Singh Charuni and maintain the unity of the movement. A peaceful struggle can lead us to victory through deep spiritual insight, abiding faith, discipline and a spirit of sacrifice. At this stage of the struggle, a display of sacrifice will take us towards victory and that is the need of the hour.
