New Delhi: The former president of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and leader of the Delhi unit of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) is set to to take over the reigns of the DSGMC for the second time here today.
The SAD (Badal) with 35 seats out of 46 in its kitty managed to retain the control over the gurudwara anagement in the elections that were held last month (26th February) Manjit GK wickedly managed to insulate gurdwara polls from the sticky issues such as sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib and Sirsa dera’s bonhomie with Badal Dal in Punjab assembly polls.
Director gurdwara elections Shurbir Singh had co-opted five members into the general house, taking the total strength to 51. These 51 members will elect the president and other members of the committee. It is reported by the media that Manjit GK has the support of 41 members out of 51 members of the general house.
It is widely speculated that Manjinder Singh Sirsa who was genral secretary in the previous DSMC house is also in the race for the top post against Manjit Singh GK, said the media.
