Moga, Punjab (June 02, 2014): It seems that politicians of Punjab are trying to tackle their failure in recent parliamentary elections with a strategy of submission of resignations and to please their bosses with this tactic. Now the Punjab Congress Legislature Party leader Sunil Kumar Jakhar has played resignation episode.
According to a report published by Hindustan Times (HT), Sunil Jakhar claimed that he had met All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi on May 20 and offered his written resignation taking moral responsibility of his defeat at Ferozpur Lok Sabha seat but she refused to accept the same and asked him to continue as CLP leader.
According to media reports, earlier, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa had offered the resignation following his defeat in Gurdaspur LS seat but it was rejected. Interestingly, captain Amrinder Singh and his aides were demanding his resignation on moral grounds.
A day ago, Punjab Finance Minister (FM) Parminder Singh Dhindsa’s resignation had rocked the state. The Yes Punjab portal had reported on Sunday that Parminder Dhindsa had submitted his resignation as FM to Punjab chief minister following defeat of his father and member Rajya Sabha Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa in Sangrur LS constituency.
