The joint resistance camp—Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik—had urged people to particularly youth to “express their sentiments by writing slogans like ‘We want Freedom’, ‘Freedom for all, Freedom for Jammu Kashmir’, ‘Go India Go Back’, “Hum Kya Chata Azadi” on roads, walls, shop shutters.”

While leading the graffiti campaign, Geelani, according to a Hurriyat (G) statement, said government employees are a “vital part” of our society and they have a “bigger responsibility towards their own Kashmiri nation.”
