Sangrur Police interrogate AAP MLA Naresh Yadav in Malerkotla beadbi case

Patiala: Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav was interrogated by the Sangrur police for about five hours at the crime investigation agency (CIA) staff police station in Patiala yesterday about the June 24 beadbi of Quran in Malerkotla.

According to Sangrur SP Pritpal Singh Thind Naresh Yadav did not answered a few questions and he could be called again.

“He accepted that he had met main accused Vijay Kumar on the day of the desecration and talked with him on mobile phone,” the SP reportedly told media persons.

SP Thind said the police would conduct polygraph test of arrested accused in Malerkotla beadbi case on Thursday (July 7).

“If required, we’ll ask court to let us put the lie detector on Naresh Yadav as well”, he added.

On the other hand, Naresh Yadav has contradicted the police claims. Talking to media persons Naresh Yadav said that he had answered all the questions “with honesty” and was ready to appear again. He denied accepting that he had any talk with the main accused on the day of the incident.

“I don’t want to comment much on a matter under investigation but I have been targeted,” he said.

AAP Punjab affairs incharge Sanjay Singh said the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) was “stooping to a new low every day”.
