Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday (Dec. 11) appointed former cabinet minister and party Bathinda district president Sikander Singh Maluka as President of the SAD Kisan Wing.

An official release here while quoting the SAD president said he was confident that Sikander Singh Maluka would infuse new energy in the party’s Kisan wing. Sukhbir Badal said that Maluka has “vast knowledge of the agrarian crisis in Punjab after the Congress took over the reins of the State”. He asked Maluka to form his team and reach out to the farmers who were suffering due to the Congress government’s failure to implement its loan waiver promise.
