Chandigarh: The controversy surrounding Sant Samaj chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma’s support for ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) in assembly elections deepens further with a number of Sant Samaj leaders parting ways with Baba Harnam Singh.
As per a news reported in a Punjabi vernacular (Daily Ajit – dated: Feb. 03) 93 Sant Samaj leaders have distanced themselves from Baba Harnam Singh’s announcement to support Badals. These leaders have reportedly clarified that they do not support any political party for February 04 elections. The statement of Sant Samaj leaders follows the announcement of Badal Dal leaders to organize an event of controversial dera Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in Punjab.
These Sant Samaj leaders include Baba Barjinder Singh Parwana, Baba Harnek Singh Langranwale, Baba Kashmira Singh Alhoran, Baba Sadhu Singh Sangrur, Baba Mahinder Singh Lambian, Baba Sarup Singh Chandigarh, Baba Hari Singh Zira, Baba Gurminder Singh Maandi, Baba Surinder SIngh Mohali, Baba Mohinder Singh Bhari, Baba Gurmeet Singh Khosa besides others.
