Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday (Oct. 29) criticized Punjab Government for arresting nurses who were protesting peacefully in front of the official residence of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
In a press statement comedian turned politician and AAP state convener Gurpreet Ghuggi said that rather than arresting and (allegedly) torturing the nurses, Chief Minister must have listen to their genuine demands.
Gurpreet Ghuggi said that the nurses were working on the minimum wages from long time and demanded to regularize their jobs but rather than listen to their grievance, government got them arrested. He said that the government must learn to respect the women.
AAP Punjab convenor said were not paid their salaries for last 6 months. He said that the government machinery has been failed in Punjab are youth is unable to get jobs. The ruling alliance has grabbed the natural resources of the state.
He promised to address nurses’ demands at priority basis if AAP is voted to power.
