Acting Jathedars and Simranjit Singh Mann House Arrested in Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib: In a press note issued today, S. Simranjit Singh Mann, president of Shiroamani Akali Dal Amrtisar (Mann) said that he along with two acting jathedars was put under house arrest by the Punjab police last night.

“I, along with Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal and Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala, was put under house arrest by the Punjab police at the behest of the Punjab government, where as the raids were  conducted at wee hour  at the respective residence of our party leaders”, S. Mann said in a written statement.

Furthermore S.Mann said that the police made a forced entry into the house of Avtar Singh SAD (Amritsar) District Hoshiarpur  president at around 1 AM in the morning, that too without a search warrant. He added that during the ongoing raid the police officials misbehaved with the womenfolks of the house and also roughed up the cattle and their dog.

Going forward with his statement Simranjit Singh Maan said he has requested the Hoshiarpur SSP to hold an independent enquiry into this matter and initiate strict action against the erring cops. If the Punjab Police fails to take action against the guilty cops SAD (Amritsar) and its associate organisation will lodge a strong protest with the Punjab government.
