Akal Takhat tell Sikh organizations to give suggestion on Balwant Singh Rajoana; Meeting on 23 March

Amritsar, Punjab (March 20, 2012): Five Singh Sahibs, Jathedars of five Sikh Takhats, have directed all the Sikh organizations to present their views and suggestions, in writing, that what should be Panthic move regarding death sentence awarded to Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.

Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh told that five Singh Sahib have decided to take input from various Sikh organizations. He was addressing the media persons after holding meeting with other Singh Sahibs at Akal Takhat Secretariat.

‘All Sikh organizations are directed to send their suggestions before March 23, 2012 at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib on various aspects of the issue including the possibility of using legal options’ he informed.

“We shall take notice of all the suggestions that we receive and shall decide the future course of action on 23 March during a meeting that would be held at Teja Singh Samundi Hall.” Giani Gurbachan Singh told media persons.

Akal Takhat Jathedar has further directed the Gurudwara management committees across the globe to begin Akhand Path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib on March 23 and perform prayers on March 25 for the high spirits of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.

Akal Takhat Jathedar also warned miscreant elements against issuing offers to act as hangman for Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana. It is notable that Hindutva organization Shiv Sena’s Punjab president Sanjeev Tandon had submitted a memorandum to Punjab government authorities offering to act as hangman for executing Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.
