Jammu: India’s National Investigative Agency (NIA) along with Jammu Police here on Saturday raided the residence of Davinder Singh Behal and arrested him. Davinder Singh Behal is an advocate by profession and legal adviser to Sayed Ali Shah Geelani lead Tareek-e-Hurriyat. He also happens to be the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peace Forum and he reportedly owed allegiance to the Hurriyat Conference.

The Indian mainstream media did covered the details of raid as well as his consequent arrest, but what the media did intentionally or unintentionally failed to cover was the highly violent, rowdy and organised pro-hindutva  mob which was trying to attack Davinder Singh Behal.

The incidence took place when the joint team of NIA and Jammu police was taking the Sikh Hurriyat leader from his Bakshi Nagar based residence in Jammu, at that very time a pro-hindutva mob surrounded his residence and tried to to attack him.

During the commotion the mob were seen chanting the slogans like ”Desh Kay Gaddaro Ko Fasi Do” & ”Desh Kay Gaddaro Ko Goli Marro” suggesting that they were in favor of or were trying to encourage extra judicial killing of the arrested Sikh activist.

Furthermore, while resorting to anti-Sikh sloganeering and boasting about the perpetrator of Sikh genocide of June 1984 they hailed the former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by chanting ”Indira Gandhi Zindabad”.
