Jalalabad: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on his maiden day of 11 days tour of Punjab, announced the name of Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann to contest against Punjab’s Deputy CM and Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) President Sukhbir Badal.
While addressing his first rally on the political home-turf of Sukhbir Badal, Arvind Kejriwal asked the AAP supporters if Bhagwant Mann should contest against Sukhbir Badal. As per a press release by AAP, “the people who turned out in huge number, replied with a thunderous applause immediately to give approval to the proposal”.

“In fact, Kejriwal asked people thrice if Bhagwant Mann should contest against Sukhbir Badal and each time people replied in cheerful manner by saying “Yes, Mann should contest against Sukhbir Badal”.”, the statement reads further.
Immediately after that Arvind Kejriwal also proposed that in case Sukhbir Badal changes his mind to contest from any other constituency and should Bhagwant Mann also follow him to contest from there and crowd responded positively.
Bhagwant Mann said that he was ready to contest against Sukhbir Badal from wherever he will contest the assembly election.
“In Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) it is a trend set up by Arvind Kejriwal, who have defeated former Delhi Chief Minister Sheela Dixit two times in consecutive manner and I feel honoured that this opportunity in Punjab has given to me”, Mann said.
“I also invite Captain Amarinder Singh to contest assembly election against Sukhbir Badal, instead of contesting from his traditional seat, to know whether people of Punjab accept him as their leader”, Bhagwant Mann said.
