Avtar Singh Makkar Shunted Out; Kirpal Singh Badungar is New SGPC Chief

Amritsar: Former SGPC Chief Kirpal Singh Badungar has been elected president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. The decision was announced at the first meeting of the new general house in Amritsar today. This House was elected in 2011 but had been under suspension following stay by the court.

As per reports the session of SGPC was presided over by Balwinder Singh, who was given temporary charge of Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar.

Kirpal Singh Badungar’s name was proposed by Tota Singh and seconded by Bibi Jagir Kaur. Badungar has earlier remained president from November 27, 2001 to July 20, 2003.
