BJP Releases its Election Manifesto For Punjab Assembly Elections

Chandigarh: The union finance minister Arun Jaitly yesterday released the Bhartiya Janata Party’s election manifesto in a press conference held at Jalandhar, for the upcoming state assembly elections.”BJP’s alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) will continue like before and we will further expand developmental activities if given another term,” Jaitley stated  while addressing the mediapersons at the  press conference.

He further stated that BJP’s major focus will be to implement Goods and Services Tax from July 1.

In its 16-page manifesto, BJP has reportedly assured a house to every poor family besides promising a 5-8 marla plot of land to Dalits and those belonging to backward class. The SAD (Badal) ally has also promised a job to at least one member from each family.

The party in its manifesto has further maintained that Rs five lakh in financial assistance to the families which were affected by militancy in Punjab. It also talks of setting up of a ‘Farmers Income Commission’ which will provide an assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the families of traders or farmers in the event of their sudden death.

On the education front, the manifesto claims for making free the studies of girls till PhD level.
