“Closed door” meeting between Sarna and Akal Takhat Jathedar, media repot

Moga, Punjab (June 18, 2014): Just after he returned from Pakistan, former Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak committee chief Paramjeet Singh Sarna reportedly meet Akal Takhat Jathedar Giyani Gurbachan Singh behind “closed door”.

According to a report published by Punjab Spectrum news portal, Sarna might have discussed issues of Sikhs living in Pakistan and the issue of Nanakshahi Calendar. Sarna is reported to have met with Baba Jagtar Singh KarSewa Taran Tarn also.

The SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar is doing all efforts to “impose” so-called revised Nanakshahi calendar in Pakistan, which has lost the original essence, which was behind the formation to highlight the uniqueness of Sikhism, but Sarna, on the other hand, went to Pakistan along with a Jatha and observed Guru Atjun Dev’s martyrdom day as per “original” Nanakshahi calendar.

The portal, however, failed to disclose the facts of the meeting, but reported that the meeting had started spreading various rumours and talks among the Sikh-folds.
