Bhai Daljeet Singh Bittu
Barnala (November 13, 2009): As per information provided by Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema (Secretary General of SAD Panch Pardhani) to SikhSiyasat Network over phone, it is expected that Barnala court would pronounce its’ decision on 13 November 2009 in a case of sedition registered against Bhai Daljeet Singh Bittu.
Bhai Bittu was booked under section 124A (IPC) in April 2006 for opposing forceful acquisition of 376 acres of fertile land belonging to Sikh farmers. Punjab Government had acquired this land not for some public purpose but for a private business house called ‘Trident’.
‘It was a politically motivated charge. Whole case was baseless and we expect a favorable decision today’ said Bhai Cheema.
