Paramjeet Singh Rana of DSGMC’s Dharam Prachar Committee said that by chaining and handcuffing Jagtar Singh Hawara during court appearance the Delhi police has violated guidelines issued by the Supreme Court of India.

He alleged that the Delhi police was indulged in torture of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara as the police made him to climb at least 50 stairs of the court complex. He said that Jagtar Singh Hawara was acute back pain problem and he recently underwent treatment at AIIMS. He said that it was no less than a torture to compel a person with acute back problem to climb stairs.
