Kaithal, Haryana (July 3, 2014): After playing Akal Takhat authority card to stop Haryana Sikh leaders from putting efforts to form separate SGPC for Haryana Sikh Gurdwaras, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar on Thursday appealed Haryana Sikhs not to participate in Sikh convention at Kaithal on July 6.

“It is just an election stunt of congress to woo Sikh voters and Sikhs should not get trapped in the net of anti-Sikh party congress”, said Makkar while talking media persons in Kaithal here.

Sparing no effort to avoid separate SGPC for Harana Sikh Gurdwaras, Shiromani Akali Dal Badal (SAD-B) leaders led by SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar protested against the move of formation of separate SGPC on Thursday at Kaithal town.

During the protest, holding banners with slogans in Devnagri script of Hindi language, the Akali leaders raised anti-congress slogans.
