Five arrested by Mansa police for allegedly pasting pro-Khalistan posters

Mansa, Punjab (December 31, 2012): As per media reports the Mansa police arrested five persons on December 31, 2012 for allegedly pasting Pro-Khalistan posters. As per police such pro-Khalistan posters were also containing “seditious material” spreading hatred among religious communities.

As per media reports Narinder Bhargav, SSP of Mansa claimed that the Mansa police noticed such posters in the towns of Bhikhi, and Budhlada and nearby villages in the wee hours creating panic amongst common citizens on December 31, 2012.

As per police taking the issue very seriously a special team constituted under the leadership of SP (Detective) and comprising of DSP Mansa, SHO Bhikhi and SHO Budhlada city and two cases under sections 295-A (blasphemy) and 153-B (offences against public tranquility) of Indian Penal Code were registered at Bhikhi and Budhlada city police stations.

As per media reports the Mansa Police Chief Narinder Bhargav informed that at the bottom of these posters an email id with initial “mautdeparwane” was also mentioned.

As per SSP Narinder Bhargav after thorough follow up five persons namely Dr. Sukhcharan Singh, Deepa, Joney, Manjit and Harpreet Singh were arrested.

SSP Bhargav has reportedly claimed that these five persons were used to meet at a religious place in Cheema Mandi of district Sangrur and during preliminary investigation they disclosed that were planning for initiating “unlawful and disruptive activities” in the region.

He said that Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) has also been added in the FIRs and thorough investigation was going on.
