Ghawaddi Case: Three sent to jail on judicial custody

Ludhiana: Three persons who were arrested in relation to Ghawaddi case were presented before the court of judicial magistrate Lovejinder Kaur today. They were sent to jail on judicial custody of 14 days.

Notably, Gurpreet Singh and Nihal Singh (alias Jaspreet Singh) had surrendered before a local court after their name had emerged in relation to the killing of Ghawaddi village resident Balwinder Kaur. Balwinder Kaur was accused in a case related to Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib in Ghawaddi village in October 2015.

Later, on August 03 the police had shown arrest of three more persons, namely Harbans Singh of Kalle Majra (Nabha), Gurvinder Singh and Jagjit Singh of Herike village in Sangrur district.

Gurpreet Singh and Nihal Singh were committed to judicial custody by a duty magistrate yesterday who had sent three others, namely Harbans Singh of Kalle Majra (Nabha), Gurvinder Singh and Jagjit Singh of Herike village in Sangrur district, on one day police remand.

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the police were quick to present trio before the court who were committed to judicial custody. It is believed that the police did so to avoid the gathering of Sikh sangat at the Court complex.
