Moga, Punjab (June 17, 2014): If a media report is to be believed, Haryana is all set to constitute separate SGPC for Sikh Gurdwaras in Haryana and just the announcement is to be made.
The Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Hooda has reportedly okayed for the committee, said the report published in Punjabi Tribune.
As per the report based on the sources, a close of Hooda managed to bring Jhinda and Nalvi groups at a common platform while the same person managed “a closed door” meeting of Hooda with Didar Singh Nalvi and Jagdish Singh Jhinda while that person is behind the Sikh convention at Kaithal on July 6.
The report stated that the Haryana CM has okayed for the separate committee for Haryana Sikh Gurdwaras. However, neither CM nor the Sikh leaders of Haryana confirmed the meeting, report said.
On the other hand, both Nalvi and Jhinda group held a meeting after that.
In another separate report published in The Tribune, Jhinda has asked Hooda to call a house session of Haryana Assembly and pass a bill for separate committee.
Both Jhinda and Nalvi groups failed to open even account in recent SGPC elections and Badal Dal defeated all the candidates of both groups.
Interestingly, the total votes of both Jhinda and Nalvi group were more than that of Badal Dal candidates.
There are 72 Gurdwaras in Haryana and turnover is around 180 crore.
Sikhs have decisive vote bank at 36 out of 90 assembly segments of Haryana while Sikhs decide to send MPs to Lok Sabha at four parliamentary constituencies.
