India-Pakistan Meeting On Kartarpur Corridor Today; Pak Team to Visit Dera Baba Nanak

Gurdaspur: A team of engineers from Pakistan will meet the officials of Indian officials at Dera Baba Nanak town of Gurdaspur district on August 27 regarding the construction of a bridge over a low-lying area at the border as part of the corridor project.

A senior Border Security Force (BSF) official said, “The Pakistan team will survey the Indian side of the bridge before starting construction.”

Officials of the National Highway Authority of India, BSF and Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) will be present in the meeting.

Kartarpur Sahib corridor was opened on November 9, 2019 by Government of India and Pakistan on 550th Parkash Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Ji.

The corridor was suspended by India in wake of COVID-19 breakout on March 16. Though Pakistan reopened the Corridor on 29 July 2020, but it is not yet reopened by India.
