International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) to Host Session on Sikh Genocide

Barcelona, Spain: International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) is going to hold IAGS 2021 Conference from 18 to 23 July at University of Barcelona. A session on Sikh genocide will also be hosted during this conference, which will be attended by genocide scholars, academicians, researchers and human rights activists from across the globe.

The theme of IAGS 2021 conference is “Genocide and Its Prevention in the Digital Age: 21st Century Challenges”.

In all around 59 sessions will be held during the conference. A session on Sikh Genocide will be held on 21 July, 2021 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm Central European Time (3:30 pm to 5 pm, Amritsar Time).

A panel of five Sikh youth scholars and activists will hold this session that will be chaired by Mr. Timothy Williams, Junior Professor of Insecurity and Social Order at the Bundeswehr Universität München in Munich, Germany.

Panel on Sikh genocide titled as “The Hunt for the Missing: Enforced Disappearances in Punjab by the Indian State” include Simarjit Kaur, founder of UK based humanitarian project TARAN, Parmjeet Singh Gazi, editor of Punjab based Sikh news and analysis portal Sikh Siyasat, Jasjit Singh Bajwa and Baljinder Singh Bajwa, human rights activists working with Punjab Documentation and Advocacy Project, and Dalsher Singh, a youth scholar based in Canada.
