New Delhi, India (January 29, 2013): As per information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), Bhai Iqbal Singh Bhatti who had been continuous hunger strike for last 57 days, ended his hunger strike today as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has taken up his demands.
Iqbal Singh Bhatti had been demanding formation of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the cases related to Sikh massacre of November 1984. He was also seeking release of Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar.
Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) revealed that Iqbal Singh Batti ended his hunger strike as the Delhi Chief Minister has sent him a written assurance to do everything with in his authority regards Sikh demands for which Iqbal Singh was on indefinite hunger strike.
The letter, a copy of wh ich is available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), states that Delhi CM has already sent his recommendation for the release of Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar.
“As the Delhi CM today met Lieutenant Governor of Delhi regarding formation of SIT on November 1984 Sikh massacre related cases, Bhai Iqbal Singh ended his struggle”, Harvinder Singh, one of the co-ordinators of Untied Sikh Mission told SSN over phone.
As per information Bhai Iqbal Singh Bhatti ended his hunger strike in the presence of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Jarnail Singh and Jagdeep Singh; Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satikar Committee chief Bhai Sukhwinder SIngh Khalsa, S. Warinder Singh France, S. Harminder Singh Delhi, Bibi Nirpreet Kaur (Chirperson, Justice for Vitims), Bibi Surjeet Kaur France, Ajmer Singh Randhawa and All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) President Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad.
According to information whole movement was supervised and advised by Delhi Sikh youth under the banner of a unity drive Untied Sikh Mission. USM successfully managed to ward off opportunistic politicians. It’s for the first time in recent years that youth took Panthic matter in there own hands and communicated at all levels to get the voice heard.
