Makers of Nanak Shah Fakir movie still using Akal Takht name, reveals new video release

Chandigarh: Makers of the controversial movie titled “Nanak Shah Fakir” have again used Akal Takht Sahib’s name maintaining that their movie enjoys support and blessings of the ‘Akal Takhat Sahib’. The recent video released today by makers of the Nanak Shah Fakir movie displays message: “With support and blessings of Sri Akal Takht Sahib”.

It is pertinent to note here that Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has already clarified that the movie was never granted any clearance or support by the Akal Takhat Sahib.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar has also clarified that the SGPC had already rejected the Nanak Shah Fakir movie. Avtar Singh Makkar said that as this movie violates basic tenets of the Sikh panth by depicting Guru Nanak Ji and his family members.

The video released today by “SagaHits” on YouTube affirms that the film is made is clear violation of Sikh tenets as it personifies Guru Nanak Ji. (Personification of Sikh Gurus is prohibited as per Sikh tenets).

A number of Sikh organisations have already announced to oppose the film. Sikh organisations namely the Dal Khalsa, Sikh Youth of Punjab and Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwale (SYFB) have declared that the movie they would not be allowed to screening of this blasphemous movie.
