Mann Dal to contest election of “Khalistan issue”; S. Mann rules out election alliance with Rajoana

Anandpur Sahib, Punjab (October 16, 2013):It is learnt that the S. Simranjeet Singh Mann, President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has announced to contest upcoming Indian Parliamentary elections on the issue of “Khalistan”.

S. Mann, along with other party-men, made an announce- ment in this regard at Anandpur Sahib after holding a meeting of the executive committee of his party. As per media reports on being asked that if he would himself contest election from any constituency, he reportedly replied that his party would take a decision in this regard.

It is notable that Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is confined in Central Jail Pataila has also announced to field his candidate in upcoming general elections for Indian Parliament from either of Anandpur Sahib or Patiala constituency. As per certain media reports S. Simranjeet Singh Mann declared that his party’s candidates would contest elections from all Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab and further ruled out any alliance with Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.
